Our Editorial Approach
UK Watch Store publishes articles about watches, their design and the differences between original references and replica interpretations. Our aim is to provide clear, useful information for readers who want to understand the watches they are interested in.
We believe an article should offer more than a repeated specification sheet. It should explain what distinguishes a particular design, why a change matters and where the available information has limitations.
Research and Sources
Our articles may draw upon official manufacturer information, historical documentation, published interviews and specialist watch publications. We aim to check important specifications against reliable sources and identify the origin of significant third-party claims.
When reporting on a new release, we distinguish confirmed product information from rumours, predictions and personal interpretation.
Information taken from another publication must be appropriately attributed. We do not present another writer’s opinions, interviews or first-hand experiences as our own.
Original Articles and Personal Experience
Our articles are intended to provide original explanations and observations rather than simply reproduce existing reports.
We only describe an article as hands-on when the writer has personally examined the watch in question. Otherwise, the article is based on documented information, published images and comparative research.
Original Watches and Replica Interpretations
One of the most important parts of our editorial work is maintaining a clear distinction between genuine watches and replicas.
An original manufacturer’s specifications should not automatically be attributed to a replica. Movement architecture, power reserve, precious-metal content, case construction and water resistance may differ substantially.
Where replica-specific technical information cannot be independently confirmed, we make those limitations clear rather than presenting assumptions as established facts.
Images and Attribution
Images are selected to support the subject of an article. We aim to use appropriately licensed material, original photography or images for which publication is permitted.
Where relevant, captions identify whether an image shows an original manufacturer reference or a replica. Illustrative material must not be described as an independently photographed sample.
Commercial Relationships
Any material commercial relationship that could influence an article, including paid placements, affiliate links or products supplied for examination, should be disclosed clearly when applicable.
Advertising arrangements do not justify inaccurate specifications or unsupported product claims.
Corrections and Updates
Watch specifications and reference information may occasionally be incorrect or become outdated. We review reported errors and update articles when reliable information establishes that a correction is necessary.
Significant factual corrections should be acknowledged where appropriate. Routine editorial improvements may be made without changing the original publication date.
